Glødkeeper
A box of mini-games played with one shared card collection.
Glødkeeper is a collecting game where the creatures have personalities, and every game in the box is played with the same collection. It is in closed alpha: register for a place.
Every Glødkin has its own mix of sixteen traits: how curious it is, how patient, how funny, how brave. Those traits aren’t decoration. They decide how it plays every game, who it gets along with, and how it grows over time.
Building a team
There isn’t a strongest creature. A team that’s brilliant at one game will struggle at another, and creatures that get on well with each other genuinely do better together. Working out who belongs next to whom is most of the game.
Games to play
A growing box of mini-games: simple boards, cards and pieces drawn for a phone screen, each one quick to learn and leaning on different traits. The tour shows what is in the box today.
Stories and the world
Illustrated stories across six regions, with tasks you play where the story happens, plus territory rounds and delves on the map between them.
Looking after them
Glødkin have glød, roughly how they’re doing. Playing with them, training them and pairing them with creatures they like raises it. Ignoring them lets it fade. It’s a gentle system, and deliberately a forgiving one.
Made for younger players
Glødkeeper is built for ages 7 and up, and that shaped the design from the start:
- No free text between players. Nothing a stranger types can reach a child.
- Nothing random sold for money. Random rewards exist, but they’re earned in-game only and can never be bought.
- No pressure to return. Progress is long and steady rather than built on streaks you’ll feel bad for breaking.
These were choices, not compromises. They made the game better.
